History
It was at the beginning of 1997 that Pastors Phil and Helen Weaver, and a small group of ministry pioneers, sensed that God was leading them to start a new church and ministry in the county of Leicestershire based in the University town of Loughborough.
In March of that year New Springs went public by planting and establishing a local church. The first public meeting was held in a local hotel situated on the High Street. So, New Springs International Christian Church (as it was known then), was born with just a handful of folk in attendance.
Over the years we have met in various hired venues in Charnwood until 2015 when we purchased a large industrial unit 2 minutes from the town centre. We were able to transform it from being just a warehouse to the state of the art facility that we now enjoy, now known as The NSC Arena.
It was from this small base that both our local and national ministries grew and developed. Almost three decades later, New Springs is now thriving and growing church with several campuses.
Since those early days the ministry team has grown and has been heavily involved in community and social enterprise as well as growing the Kingdom of God. We have a passionate, charismatic team of Ministers and leaders whom you can read more about on the Leadership page.
Phil still heads up the network of Churches and is based in Loughborough working alongside the lead Pastor, Reverend Ellen Lockwood.
