Letting God Lead
Well the time has come for Jen, Finley and myself to head to sunny Sunderland. As much as it seems strange, and comes with a mix of emotions, good and bad, it feels right, and not just to us and the leadership, but right in God and the Holy Spirit.
In our decisions it’s important that we don’t just feel it’s right but they are right and pleasing to God and the Holy Spirit. It’s important that you let God lead you, if you don’t it won’t be long before you get into a pickle.
Now let’s just clear some things up, yes we’re leaving but we’re not really leaving. Let me explain, we are being sent to further the work of New Springs but most importantly to further the Kingdom of God.
We will still be leaders of New Springs UK and will still be very much involved in a number of the great ministry’s we have in Loughborough. We will be back more often than not. In fact it will be like we’ve never gone! Kind of…
Over the next 12 months the Sunderland church will be re-branded and be run with a very strong New Springs ethos.
The leadership will be coming up, preaching and helping set up different ministries. Jen and I hope that some of you will come up and visit from time to time.
We have so many fond memories of everyone, if you have journeyed, served, spent time with us in some way we will have a fond memory. Hopefully you have some fond memories of us too. There might be some you that choose to forget ? just remember if it didn’t kill you it has only made you stronger.
We are very excited about what God has in store for us and the City of Sunderland. Now just because we are excited about Sunderland doesn’t mean we have stopped being excited and passionate about you and Loughborough. God is going to blow all of our minds in what He is going to do in Loughborough through this church.
Jen and I have every confidence that God will supply everything we need. He has never let us down in the past and He is not about start. If you put God first in all that you do this is what the scripture says:
‘God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in Glory’ (Philippians 4:19 KJV)
In the words of that deep theologian Arnold Schwarzenegger “I’ll be back”
‘Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us’ (Hebrews 12:1 NIV)
Keep going for it, keep believing, make a difference for Gods kingdom.
