LAMP - Introduction to Theology - Malcolm Dyer

LAMP (Leadership And Ministry Pathway) is a unique opportunity for any aspiring, emerging or existing leaders and those interested in ministry in whatever field, to develop their leadership, ministry and service skills and knowledge.

Module Title: Introduction to Theology

Module Description: Theology is a vast subject. This module is an attempt to study several Christian doctrines and outline their importance. The Bible is the basis of all Christian Doctrine. Who and what we understand God to be will affect pretty much every other doctrine we have. A good understanding of one doctrine requires a broader understanding of many of the others. In this particular LAMP module we will consider how the major theological themes knit together in a cohesive and coherent whole. It will explore the Bible's central integrating themes from God's perspective and His relationship with humanity and especially His people. The purpose of the course is to introduce basic theological concepts and begin to learn how to engage in critical reflection about those concepts through dialogue and to become acquainted with some important and often persistent theological questions.
